Grandma’s cake – tender and soft!
Preparation :
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and butter a cake tin.
In a large bowl, beat together sugar and melted butter until smooth and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla essence and mix until incorporated.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough is smooth, but avoid overmixing.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the cake is golden brown and risen.
