2. Bake the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before frosting.
3. Make the Frosting

In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa powder, and cream or milk. Heat over medium heat until the butter melts, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract. Gradually beat in the confectioner’s sugar until the frosting is smooth.
4. Frost the Cake

Spread the frosting over the cake while it is still warm for a glossy, velvety finish.
Allow the frosting to set before slicing and serving.
