In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed vanilla wafers, chopped pecans, confectioners’ sugar, and cocoa powder. Mix well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the bourbon and corn syrup until well combined.
Pour the bourbon mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture is evenly moistened and holds together when pressed.
Using your hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.
Roll each ball in additional confectioners’ sugar to coat.
Place the bourbon balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the balls to firm up.
Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try using dark rum or spiced rum in place of the bourbon. You can also experiment with different types of nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, for a unique twist. If you prefer a sweeter treat, dip the bourbon balls in melted chocolate before rolling them in confectioners’ sugar. For a festive touch, roll the finished balls in colored sugar or sprinkles.
