1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a springform pan to ensure your cake releases easily after baking.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps. Then, add the melted butter and eggs into the dry ingredients, stirring until everything is smooth and well combined. Pour this luscious batter into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly.

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean. Once done, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

4. While your cake is cooling, it’s time to prepare the mousse layers. Melt each type of chocolate separately. Use a microwave-safe bowl to melt the semi-sweet, milk, and white chocolate chips, stirring after every 30 seconds until smooth. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before incorporating them into the mousse.

5. In a separate bowl, whip 1/3 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Divide this whipped cream into three parts. Gently fold one part into each melted chocolate until fully combined. This will give you three different chocolate mousses.

6. Once your cake is completely cool, start layering! Begin with the semi-sweet chocolate mousse, spreading it evenly over the cake base. Chill briefly until set, about 30 minutes, then add the milk chocolate mousse on top and chill again. Finally, finish with the white chocolate mousse and let the entire cake chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up.

7. Just before serving, whip the remaining heavy cream with powdered sugar until it reaches soft peaks. Use this whipped cream to top your cake, and feel free to add chocolate shavings for a decorative finish.

Enjoy your creation with friends and family, and watch as they savor every rich, chocolatey bite!
