Many people use iron balls and sand to scour the black bottom of their pots. This procedure works immediately but leaves numerous scratches on the pot’s bottom. Later, the pot will be more prone to dirt.
Others use baking soda to uniformly coat the bottom of the pot, then pour vinegar on top and let it sit for a while before washing. This procedure is also effective, albeit not particularly effective.
The most effective and simple way to clean dirt on the bottom of the pot is to use dishwashing tablets or powder.
- First, prepare a pot of boiling water and mix 1 dishwashing tablet/dishwashing powder into it. Soak the pot in the solution.
- If the stains are not too many, you only need to soak for about 1-2 hours. If the stains are longer, you should soak the pot in water overnight.
- After soaking and washing, you just need to take the pot out and scrub it with a sponge normally used to wash dishes.
Dishwashing tablets and powder contain a variety of oxidizing chemicals that can effectively remove burnt marks and grease that have accumulated on the bottom of the pot over time
