It is most often found on birch trees, especially on old trees. If you look closely, you will most likely see a parasitic fungus.
You need to remove the top layer of the fungus; do this with a sharp knife.
Then cut off several thin pieces of the fungus.
It is preferable that the thickness of the slices does not exceed 2-3 mm. I understood it like this:
take a piece and try to set it on fire. It will not burn, but gradually smolder and smoke, like a mosquito-repellent spiral sold in a store.
But tinder smoke, unlike spiral smoke, is absolutely natural, and therefore less harmful. Although it smells, you quickly get used to it and stop noticing it.
The effect is even better than from purchased products. If there is no wind, insects have no chance.
To make it more convenient, find a small stick, put a piece of tinder fungus in it, put the fire and press the stick into the ground.
In strong winds the smoke will dissipate faster, but this can also be remedied. Simply place a few mushroom sticks in any weather
