Southern Sweet Potato Casserole

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using). Stir until smooth and creamy.
Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and melted butter for the topping. Stir in the chopped pecans until well coated.
Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the sweet potatoes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
Let the casserole cool slightly before serving warm.
