To prevent bananas from ripening too quickly, wrap them in newspaper. The use of newspaper aids in temperature regulation and retards ripening. Instead of wrapping the whole bunch of bananas together, wrap each one separately to prevent bruises.
Also, keep the bananas out of direct sunlight and in a dry, cool spot with some newspaper wrapped over them. With this procedure, you may extend their freshness by three to five days.
