Parsley adds a nice touch of freshness but can be substituted with fresh coriander.
You can use any other cheese like feta, cheddar or even ricotta.
Experiment with other vegetables too. Add grated carrots, corn or even quinoa.
To make gluten-free donuts, you can use almond flour or any gluten-free flour blend.
Don’t overheat your oil, or the donuts will brown too quickly before they’re cooked through. Use a thermometer to heat the oil to about 350°F.
To make it vegan, you can use a vegan egg substitute. Replace the egg with 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water. Use vegan cheese.
