1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9×5-inch pan and sprinkle lightly with flour to prevent sticking.
2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then, add the vanilla extract.
4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
5. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the butter and egg mixture, mixing until well combined.
6. Add the dried fruit and chopped nuts, mixing until evenly distributed.
7. Add the orange juice and gently mix until well combined.
8. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 70-80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
