Million Dollar Lasagna – Don’t LOSE this Recipe

Prepare the Meat Sauce:

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cook the Noodles:

While the sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, beaten egg, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.

Assemble the Lasagna:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture.

Repeat the layers (meat sauce, noodles, cheese mixture) until all the ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce.

Sprinkle the top with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake:
