2 cups unsalted butter, softened

Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
Step 2: Cream the Butter and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined. Add pink food coloring to achieve your desired shade of pink.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans before transferring them to a wire rack.
