Heavy-Duty Degreaser: Our go-to product for cleaning sticky grease from kitchen cabinets is Ecolab’s Heavy-Duty Citrus Degreaser. Anthony O’Reilly, a Family Handyman product tester and former handyman, used Ecolab products to clean his entire home and was impressed by the citrus degreaser’s ability to dissolve grease before even wiping it down. Plus, the citrus scent deodorizes lingering kitchen odors. The solution is ready to use right out of the bottle and is safe for wood cabinets, painted surfaces, concrete, vinyl, stainless steel, glass, metal, and more. The best part? It’s inexpensive: This Ecolab degreaser sells for less than $6 a bottle.
Soft cloth or sponge: Be sure to use a soft cloth to wipe away the degreasing solution without damaging the surfaces.
Dish soap: When in doubt, dish soap also removes grease and grime from kitchen cabinets. It contains surfactants that break down grease and surround it.
Vinegar and baking soda: For the inside of cabinets, we recommend these pantry staples instead of a degreaser, as they could come into contact with food.
