Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Combine the Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream until fully combined.
Make the Batter:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the hot fudge sauce gently to create a swirled effect.
Bake the Bread:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Drizzle with extra hot fudge sauce and dust with powdered sugar before slicing.
