Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

  • Instructions

    1. Prepare the Chicken Wings:
      • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
      • In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Toss to coat the wings evenly.
      • Spread the wings out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown, flipping halfway through.
    2. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
      • While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, honey, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
      • Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture begins to simmer.
    3. Thicken the Sauce:
      • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry.
      • Slowly pour the slurry into the simmering sauce, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
    4. Coat the Wings:
      • Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the wings and toss until they are thoroughly coated.
    5. Serve and Garnish:
      • Arrange the coated wings on a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
