Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes. The goal is to work the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. If it feels too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour onto the surface, but avoid adding too much as this can make the bread dense.

Step 4: Let the Dough Rise
Once you’ve kneaded the dough, place it back in the mixing bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. This step is crucial for developing the structure and texture of the bread.

Step 5: Shape the Dough
After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and gently punch it down to release any air bubbles. Shape it into a loaf by folding in the sides and rolling it gently. Make sure the dough fits comfortably in your crockpot.

Step 6: Grease the Crockpot
Lightly grease your slow cooker with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent the bread from sticking. Place the shaped dough inside, ensuring that it fits snugly but doesn’t overflow. Cover the slow cooker with its lid.
