Crush the Maria biscuits until they become powder. Add the melted butter and mix well. Press this mixture into the bottom of a mould, forming a compact base.
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream together with the sugar and vanilla essence over a low heat, stirring constantly.
When the cream is hot, add the chopped chocolate and stir until it melts completely and is well integrated.
Peel and cut the bananas into thin slices.
On the biscuit base, place a layer of banana, followed by a layer of the chocolate mixture. Repeat the process alternating layers until the mold is full.
If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts between the layers or over the last layer of chocolate.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the dessert is firm.
Serve cold and enjoy this delicious combination of banana and chocolate.
