Almond Cake

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment and grease it.
2. In a food processor, pulse almond paste and sugar until finely ground. Add butter and process until smooth.
3. Incorporate eggs and almond extract. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt, processing until blended.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with sliced almonds and sugar. Bake for 23-26 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
5. Cool for 30 minutes before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream and berries.
