Of course, I had to experiment with the eggs. I did them for 15,16,17 and 18 minutes to see what they look like inside and how they peeled.
- 15 minutes- harder to peel. Center is softer, right between hard and soft boiled.
- 16 minutes – peeled perfectly. Center is pretty cooked.
- 17 minutes – peeled perfectly. Center is perfect for egg salad, potato salad, deviled eggs, etc.
- 18 minutes – harder to peel. White is as hard as rocks. Bet the egg would bounce but didn’t try it. (I regret that I didn’t.) Center is dry, but not grey.
Now, you are going to have to experiment with your own air fryer to see what timing is the best for you. Do ONE egg and see. If this is something that you are going to do on a regular basis, then take this recipe and adjust it to your altitude (high altitude affects all cooking times), your air fryer model and your personal preferences.
Mine is officially 17 minutes for my perfect hard boiled egg. Yours might be different! Test and see!
The best part of these eggs is how easy they peel! Only the 15 minute egg gave me a hard time. Next up, mastering the perfect air fryer soft boiled egg!
Happy cooking!
