Preheat oven to 180°C
In a saucepan put the liter of milk and boil for 5 minutes over low heat. It must boil for a long time so that the water evaporates as much as possible.
In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with a fork for 5/10 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract.
Pour the hot milk on the eggs little by little while beating.
Transfer the preparation with a strainer into a Pyrex-type rectangular dish.
Cook in a bain-maire for about 30 minutes in the oven at 180°C.
The eggs with milk are cooked when a golden layer has formed on the top.
Let cool and put in the fridge.
