When preparing dinner, ground beef is often a go-to choice for a hearty and flavorful meal. However, many home cooks are unsure whether to rinse the ground beef before cooking. Today, I’m sharing a recipe that doesn’t require rinsing the beef after browning, which can help preserve the natural flavors and make the cooking process even simpler. This dish is easy to prepare, full of rich flavors, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, diced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
Fresh cilantro or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Directions:

Brown the Beef: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. No need to rinse the beef, as the fat and juices will add flavor to the dish.

Sauté Vegetables: Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pan with the beef. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables have softened.

Add Seasonings and Liquid: Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juices) and beef broth. Stir to mix everything together.

Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the liquid to reduce slightly.
